* Every time I visit Uptown Billiards, I feel as if I have had a religious experience. The food was like eating the words summer and fresh.

* This is my absolute favorite place. Uptown has an incredible menu, and everything is cooked perfectly every time. With the unmatched food is a wonderfully relaxed and comfortable, yet posh, atmosphere. I cant even begin to describe the perfection the chef goes to when presenting the tasting menu! Uptown Billiards is flawless perfection! Great Job!

* Uptown Billiards Club has, without a doubt, the best food in Portland! We lived in Europe for 30 years, ate often in Michelin starred restaurants, and this food rates with the best of them. We especially enjoy having the 5 course set menu hour, and the wine parings make it even more enjoyable. The affordable happy hours and dinners ensure that we are able to visit this restaurant often. Everyone who has dined with us at Uptown Billiards Club has been delighted with the creativity, presentation, and variety of the menus. It's been an education to experience what can be done with local, seasonal ingredients, and we look forward to chef Nathan Bates' next offerings.

* This is about the 6 th different Happy Hour 5 course taster's menu we have enjoyed. After each one we say "it can't get any better" but it does keep getting better time after time.

* The 5-course dining with the wine parings are unmatced in the city. The chef does a fantastic job with the themes that change every two or so weeks. The presentation and flavors are stunning. Best $25 for food and wine I will ever spend. The regular dinner list is great also if you can not get in before 6:00pm. Amazing wine list and complete cool old bar. Oh yes there are pool tables too!

* I was greeted right away, given a seat at the bar to wait for my party to arrive. Very friendly with a relaxed but very attentive service. Staff appear to enjoy their work and some of the best service I've experienced in town. I would highly recommend for a small group to enjoy a decent wine list (if you're out for a casual evening, see the under $30 wine list) and other drinks, good food, and playing pool in a warmly designed environment

* We get together with a group of friends at least once a month for the tasting menu. I have yet to be disappointed. Instead I leave every time astounded at the perfection of the menu, and the way the chef puts ingredients together. It is flawless.
